Lightening storms don’t scare me
Big dogs now seem OK
It’s just the little details
That make me run away.

My human says I’m wimpy

On the first day God created the dog. God said, “Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past.
I will give you a life span of twenty years.”

The dog said, “That’s too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten.” So God agreed.

On the second day God created the monkey. God said, “Entertain people, do monkey tricks, make them laugh. I’ll give you a twenty-year life span.”

The monkey said, “How boring, monkey tricks for twenty years? I don’t
think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that’s what I’ll do too, okay?” And God agreed.

On the third day God created the cow. God said, “You must go to the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty years.”

The cow said, “That’s kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. Let me have twenty and I’ll give back the other forty.” And God agreed again.

On the forth day God created man. God said, “Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. I’ll give you twenty years.”

Man said, “What? Only twenty years! Tell you what, I’ll take my twenty, and the forty the cow gave back and the ten the monkey gave back and the ten the dog gave back, that makes eighty, okay?”

“Okay,” said God, “You’ve got a deal.”

So that is why the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play, and enjoy ourselves; for the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family; for the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren; and for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Just getting back to you re Roxys hygroma and the “Dogsleggs” elbow protecters.

Roxys hygroma is complety gone now. Its taken a couple of months, but her problem has been treated successfully. I can thoroughly recomend the Dogsleggs product.

Roxy is doing very well now. She is off all medications and really enjoying life, especially her 2k walks evening and morning. Its so good to see her running and trotting around the park again, – full of life and happy.

I wish I had known about you water mats and the dogsleggs elbow protecters earlier. It could have saved much suffering for Roxy and a many hours of doing dressings on Roxys elbows. Also enclosed here is a photo of one of the dreadful infections Roxy suffered due to the immunosurpressant drugs she was on, and lack of elbow protection.

I have flown Roxy out to the Vet in Cairns 5 times this year. She has been on the brink of death several times. But it looks like we have got her through it. She has been well for a couple of months now and expectations are that at 11 years old she should have a few more years of quality life left yet.

Your mat will add to Roxys comfort and quality of life in her final years.

I have donated the second mat I bought from you to the Vet clinic in Cairns. They use it for dogs with high temperatures, especially those suffering paralysis tic envenomation. They are very pleased with it. Vet clinics could be a large market for your product.

Roxy loves her water mat when its hot, but as you can see in the photo she still likes to lie on the hard floor sometimes. So I leave the elbow protecters on her all the time except for when walking. She tolerates them very well.

This is Roxy who has plenty to say on the subject and we know how much she loves her cooling pad. It soft and squishy so it also helps her very painful joints and Hygromas. No silly …. it’s nothing to do with flowers, helicopters, or her grandma … it’s big painful lumps on her joints. Too much lying on hard surfaces didn’t help!

Lilli

This is Lilli - one of our most delightful recent Chihuahua customers.

There is no doubt that Lilli looks good in pretty much anything she tries on. She has that utterly gorgeous cute puppy appeal that makes you wish you could take her home with you!

Lilli finally got to splurge on 3 new outfits for the pre-Christmas party season.

Lilli went home with a nice new red jumper because it still gets cold occasionally (we get the winds straight off the mountains and it snowed last week!); plus a beautiful pink and white striped hooded T-shirt as well as the gorgeous pink one shown in the photo.

I suggested he gently bathe the eye with warm salty water as frequently as he could, given that he had to go to school.

I checked a few days later and found the poor dog alone and looking utterly miserable. His eye was now swollen closed and had a huge lump just below it. I decided to wait until I could speak to someone to see what, if anything, could be done to help the poor thing.

Fortunately, when I called again the dog’s eye was very much improved. The swelling had subsided and the pus almost gone. The boy said he had been bathing the dog’s eye with the warm salty water and that it had become much worse before it improved.

He was immensely relieved that his dear little pet was feeling much better! I’m sure he will always remember the healing power of something as simple as warm salty water.

Whilst this treatment helped, it still would have been much better for his dog if he had been able to seek veterinary advice and not risk losing the sight of the eye.

For example, have you ever tried to walk barefoot on the bitumen or concrete paths in the heat of the summer?  If so you know how scorchingly hot it is!

So if you are taking your dog for a walk, please remember that you are wearing shoes and your pet isn’t (as far as we know!) – so either walk in the cool of the morning or, if you are walking in the evenings, TEST how hot the ground/path is before you ask your dog to walk anywhere other than on grass.

Burnt feet are very painful for your pet – and you don’t need vet bills for something so easily avoided!
